ViewsCount Decision Tree/Diagnostic Engine
The ViewsCount decision tree is a modular extension to our ViewsCount survey tool (available separately), which provides an interface between our survey toolkit and any database. It provides a decision tree front-end, allowing users to navigate through a series of questions to both static and dynamic content. The content can be added in as simple pages of text (including images), and/or dynamic content contained in one or more external databases, as illustrated below.
Decision Tree
The decision tree provides the main user interface to the system. Here, a number of nodes can be combined to provide different decision paths based on information supplied by the user. Each node can be a question (single/multiple, open/closed) or an information point, allowing for both static and dynamic information to be generated. As well as text, each node can harbour document attachments and/or web references, allowing for cross referencing of established information collateral.
Specialised nodes can communicate to one or more databases, allowing up-to-date information to be retrieved. This provides future extensibility and allows additional databases to be connected, over time.
The construction of the decision tree and the configuration of each node can be achieved through an enhanced ViewsCount web interface. The interface allows the construction of a decision tree (using all of the standard features available via ViewsCount - see our ViewsCount features list for details), with the addition of some specialised connector modules.
Enhanced Reporting
An enhanced ViewsCount reporting module provides a unique insight into how users have navigated through the decision tree - and help assess what information is being accessed most/least frequently.
This facility could then be used to refine the decision tree tool to provide potentially supplementary information in areas most accessed, and provide better routes into information that is least frequently visited.
